How to Apply for State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018:

Candidates can apply online only. No other mode of application will be accepted.
Candidates should have valid email ID which should be kept active till the declaration of results. It will be essentially required for receiving any communication from the bank.

State Bank of India PO Recruitment Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank’s website https://bank.sbi/careers/ or https://www.sbi.co.in/careers/.

After registration candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking.

আবেদন মাশুল (Application Fee) of State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018:

State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018 Fee is Rs. 600/-  (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) to be paid online.
The payment can be made by using debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates.
On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form will be generated; which may be printed for record. The printout of the application form is NOT to be sent to the Bank.
If the online transaction is not successfully completed, please register again and make payment online.
There is also a provision to reprint the e-Receipt and Application form containing fee details, at later stage.

Eligibility Criteria for State Bank of India Recruitment 2018:

বয়স সীমা (Age limit): Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2018 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.1997 and not earlier than 02.04.1988 (both days inclusive).

Pay:  Rs. 23700 – 42020, the candidates will start with basic pay of Rs. 27620/- (with 4 advance increments) in  Junior Management Grade Scale-I  (JMGS-I)

Selection Process for State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018:

The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three tiered process:

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online.
The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Selection criteria for Main Examination:

Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Examination. Candidates numbering approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies in each category will be short listed for the Main Examination from the top of the merit list.

Phase – II: Main Examination of State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018:

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.
(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Selection criteria for Group Exercise and Interview: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approximately) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the merit list subject to a candidate scoring minimum qualifying score in aggregate.

Phase – III of State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018:

Group Exercises (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks) Candidates qualifying for GE & Interview under ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.

Final Selection of State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GE & Interview (Phase-III) for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.

Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Exercises & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercises & Interview out of 100.

The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. Results of the candidates who qualify for Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview as well as the final select list will be made available on the Bank’s website.

Joining and Training of State Bank of India PO Recruitment 2018:

The selected candidates will be exposed to basic banking knowledge, before joining, through an online course and will have to mandatorily complete this course before joining.

The selected candidates, at the time of joining, will have to execute a Bond for a value of Rs 2.00 lac (Rs Two lac only) to serve the Bank for a minimum period of three years. The Bond will be invoked by the Bank if the candidate resigns from the service of the Bank before expiry of three years from the date of joining.

On joining, the selected candidates will be designated as “Probationary Officers” and will be on probation for two years. They will be subjected to continuous assessment during the probation period.

Those candidates who qualify in the assessment as per standards determined by the Bank from time to time, will be confirmed in the Service of the Bank in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I).

Further, those officers who achieve higher standards/ scores stipulated by the Bank, may be considered for direct placement in the next higher grade, Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II) immediately after confirmation. If any candidate fails to achieve minimum standards stipulated, his/ her services may be terminated as per policy of the Bank in force at the material time.

  1. At first, visit Bank’s website in this link and open the appropriate Online Application Form, available in the ‘Current Openings’ tab.
  2. Register your name online.
  3. Then you should scan your photograph and signature as detailed under guidelines for scanning the photograph and signature.
  4. Fill the application carefully.
  5. Once the application is filled in completely, submit all the required data. If you can not being able to fill the data in one go, you can save the data already entered.
  6. When the data is saved, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen.
  7. These registration no and password is very important. Note down for latter. You can re-open the saved data using these registration number and password and edit the particulars for three times.
  8. If the application is filled in completely, Click on submit. You are not allowed to change /edit the data there after. The registration at this stage is provisional.
  9. After ensuring the correctness of the particulars of the online application form, you are to pay fees through the payment gateway integrated with the application.

Emoluments (Pay Structure) for SBI PO:

1. The starting basic pay Junior Management Grade Scale-I is `27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of `23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020.

2. In Addition, the official will also be eligible for D.A, C.C.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.

3. The total compensation per annum would be a minimum of `7.55 lacs and maximum of `12.93 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.

4. SBI plans to offer, subject to necessary approvals, a SMART Compensation Package which would enable candidates a choice to monetize specific elements of the salary package.

 

 

 

Eligibility Criteria for Online SBI PO Recruitment :

(A) Essential Academic Qualifications:

You must a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

If you are in the Final Year/Semester of Graduation Course, you may also apply. But the condition is that, if called for interview, you will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination.

You may apply if possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant.

 

 

Calculation of Percentage for SBI Online Exam:

The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any.

This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on the basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

Main Examination will consist of
